Board Report September 2025

Girls Swimming: The number of girls may be small, but they are mighty individually. They did not win their first meet as a team at home due to numbers, but won every individual event they swam in. The second meet they had was up against two very tough teams in the sport of swimming, Washington High School and Normal Community. Highlights of that meet were the 2 nd place finish in 100 breaststroke by freshman, Kate Lauritsen and 3 rd place finish in the 100 freestyle by Elizabeth Hansen. Every event swam in that meet by Pontiac swimmers would leave 1 or even 2 Normal Community swimmers finishing behind. The girls typically have 2 hour practices after school that include dryland and in-water workouts. The team has two co-op schools participating this year. Brooke Johnson is a senior from Prairie Central and Elizabeth Hansen is a Freshman from Dwight High School, which has had at least one swimmer participating every year since the co-op started in 2005.
