Board Report September 2025

Both programs run throughout the school year from September through May, giving students enrolled in LACC Foundations of Education ample time to participate in this hands-on learning opportunity. For example, a student completing 1 year in FOE will have spent approximately 120 hours with children in the classroom and have been responsible for planning and implementing over 30 different lessons and activities.

Alumni News:

Michael Hones LACC Program Taken: Law Enforcement I & II Graduation Year: 2015 Current Occupation: Police Officer for Metropolitan Nashville Police Department How did LACC help prepare you for your current line of work, or career life in general? “The LACC provided me an insight on my future career path as a police officer through basic fundamentals that are often overlooked — such as report writing. Through the LACC I learned how to shape myself as a future candidate by structuring a well rounded resume, utilize investigative skills, de-escalation techniques, and first-hand job interviews with active Law enforcement officials.”

What advice do you have for current LACC students trying to plan for their future? “My piece of advice for those planning their future career is to understand how valuable time is. Four years of college may seem long but it tends to pass people by quicker than they plan for. Utilize this time to create experiences but also to set yourself up for your future. Understand what you are doing now and leading up to when you begin applying for jobs will affect you. In leman’s terms: be smart. ”
