School Improvement / Curriculum Updates:

Business Roundtables – all programs will meet with local businesses to determine areas of strength and growth. These meetings are a foundation for curriculum and contacts for our students. They also allow us to determine if there are any areas we could grow programs.

Community Connections:

Pre- School has opened: The LACC Foundations of Education program is a quality, evidence-based program that is open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our program standards are derived from organizations such as NAEYC (The National Association for the Education of Young Children), ExcelleRate® Illinois and ISBE (The Illinois State Board of Education). We provide a comprehensive curriculum and child assessment system that aligns with the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines for Birth to Three and Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards for Age Three to Five. In our program handbook, our program philosophy states, “It is our goal to create an engaging classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate and inclusive of all learners. We fundamentally believe that play is the method by which children learn and that positive, caring relationships are the foundation for optimal child development.”

This year we are happy to serve 16 local families with a total of 10 children enrolled in preschool and 7 enrolled in our Toddler Program.

Preschool is open to children ages three to five and meets on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. - 1:10 p.m.

The Toddler Program meets on Tuesday mornings from 8:40 a.m. - 10:25 a.m. and Friday afternoons from 12:10 p.m. - 1:25 p.m. This program is open to children ages 18 - 35 months.
