The Superintendent shall use reasonable measures to inform staff members and students of this policy, such as, by including it in the appropriate handbooks. Any District employee who is determined, after an investigation, to have engaged in conduct prohibited by this policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including discharge. Any District student who is determined, after an investigation, to have engaged in conduct prohibited by this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to, suspension and expulsion consistent with the discipline policy. Any person making a knowingly false accusation regarding prohibited conduct will likewise be subject to disciplinary action up to and including discharge, with regard to employees, or suspension and expulsion, with regard to students.

PENALTY FOR BULLYING, INTIMIDATION, AND HARASSMENT Any student who is found guilty of harassment will face disciplinary action. Consequences may range from verbal reprimand to a recommendation of expulsion from school and could be turned over to local law enforcement agency. A written report will be filed with the Superintendent within 30 days. ACCESS TO STUDENT SOCIAL NETWORKING PASSWORDS & WEBSITES School officials may conduct an investigation or require a student to cooperate in an investigation if there is specific information about activity on the student’s account on a social networking website that violates a school disciplinary rule or policy. In the course of an investigation, the student may be required to share the content that is reported in order to allow school officials to make a factual determination. SUICIDE AND DEPRESSION AWARENESS AND PREVENTION Youth suicide impacts the safety of the school environment. It also affects the school community, diminishing the ability of surviving students to learn and the school’s ability to educate.
