Board of Education Regular Meeting Principal Report: Eric Bohm

Student Acknowledgements: I am going to second Mr. Bus tle’s acknowledgement of the students in marching band. I appreciate all they do for our school as they represent us at all the various community events. They also do a wonderful job at the football games as they try to keep the student section and fans energized.

Staff Acknowledgements : We have several teachers hosting ISU students for their TCH 212 course. This is an added stressor, however it is great to get the students in our building so they can get a feel for what PTHS is like. School Improvement / Curriculum Updates : On October 10 we will have a School Improvement Day. We will have two professional development sessions during the day:  Signs of Suicide – Teachers will discuss how to teach students the steps of Acknowledge, Care, Tell  Poverty Simulation – The poverty simulation is designed to help teachers understand what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family trying to survive from month to month.

Tutoring: The following tutoring opportunities are available for all students: Monday AM – Social Science Monday PM - Math Tuesday AM – Math Tuesday PM – English Wednesday AM – Math Wednesday PM – Spanish Thursday AM – English Thursday PM - English

Calendar of Events of Emphasis :  October 3: Distinguished Alumni Reception in Commons 5:30pm – 6:30pm  October 4: Homecoming Dance  October 13: Columbus Day – No School
