Board Report September 2024

Heartland Collaboration 

We continued our partnership with Heartland. John Salzer, HCC Advisor, is decreasing his time in the building this year to 1 day every other week.  We will continue to use the HCC financial aid office to help with the ISBE FAFSA requirement.  All students can utilize the services at Heartland, even if they are not attending Heartland after high school.

Testing

 PTHS will be moving back to the ACT testing series, due to ISBE contract.  We are administering the PSAT/NMSQT test on October 16 th 2024.  We have a school-wide testing day planned for Freshmen-Juniors on April 9 th 2025.  We are a national testing site for SAT and offer the June test at PTHS.  AP Testing will take place at PTHS during May 5 th -May 15 th .  AP Scores (See Attachment)

Future Items

 ISBE College and Career Readiness Indicators are starting to be collected, and we are working with the administration to ensure that we are documenting everything that we can. We will continue to look for ways to improve this process.  We will continue to work on meeting the Illinois PaCE Framework plan for PTHS this school year. o See attached sheet  SOS training and implementation - Year 3. Our goal is to continue to increase awareness and resources that are available to students. The new faculty and staff have been trained on the program. The whole faculty and staff will receive additional training on Oct 11 th in preparation for our SOS day on Oct 30 th .
