LACC Program Taken: Certified Nurse Assistant & Emergency Medical Technician Graduation Year: 2008 Current Occupation: Registered Nurse How did LACC help prepare you for your current line of work, or career life in general? “While in high school, I went through the CNA program & started working as a CNA in a nursing home. During that time, my love/passion for helping others came to life. I worked as a CNA for 6 years before I got accepted into the Heartland Community Colleges Nursing program. I knew that I wanted to be in a profession that would allow me to help others. When you are a CNA you are able to create such a special bond with your residents and their families. The life lessons that I learned are forever imprinted on my heart & I feel like it helps to keep you humble.”

What advice do you have for current LACC students trying to plan for their future? “Keep your doors open to all possibilities. If you have an interest or a passion, g o for it! If you end up not loving it, try something new! The sky is the limit & you can explore many different options that will hopefully get you where you want to be.”
