Airway Obstruction

Choking - Abdominal Thrusts (Heimlich) Asthma - Loosen clothing, Place student in sitting position, reassure student, contact Health Center

Respiratory Failure

Rescue Breathing, Call 911/Contact Main Office/Student Health Center

Cardiac Arrest

Start CPR, Call 911/Contact Main Office/Health Center

Heat Injury

Apply cool cloths (Not Ice), remove heavy clothing. Cool with fluids if alert and responsive. Call 911/Contact Main Office/Health Center Using gloves from Blood Pathogens Kit apply pressure using clean dressing. If bleeding doesn't stop, apply pressure to pressure points. Call 911/Contact Main Office/Health Center Don't move the student - Use whatever is present to immobilize the head/neck. Call 911/Contact Main Office/Health Center Don't move body part without proper splinting. Contact Main Office/Health Center Send injured student with an escort to the Health Center. Send injured student with an escort to the Health Center.
