“Summer to Autumn”

Fall is upon us all See the trees turn from green to red From smooth to crisp. Feel the breeze blow cold against your skin No longer temperate and no longer warm. Smell the candles melting And the pies on the windowsills. And the skitter of rakes on the sidewalk Watch them jump into the leaf piles. Autumn is everything all at once Trick-or-treating with your closest friends And gathering around the Thanksgiving table. Savor every moment of it Before long, it’ll disappear, just as summer did. Taste the pumpkin delicacies Cookies and muffins galore. Hear the laughter of children
