MODERN WORLD HISTORY (742) Class Level: 10, 11, 12 Credit: 1/2 Prerequisite: None

This course, students will engage in religious studies through 3 major world religions: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. Students will get an understanding of history/theology and conflicts that exist in and between these major religions. Students will be assessed by constructing solutions with the forces that have shaped the modern world. This course will examine how we have gotten where we are today and what economic, cultural, and geo-political dynamics have constructed our modern world.

CIVICS (745) Class Level: 12 Credit: 1/2 Prerequisite: Must have senior-level status

This course in American government emphasizes the structure and functions of federal, state, and local government. The student’s role in a democracy is determined through relationships with citizenship, political parties, elections, interest groups, and public opinion. The state-required examination in American government and citizenship, and a service learning project forms part of the course requirement.
